Sometimes commercial real estate is not about commerce; sometimes it is about community and a brother’s love.
Take the real estate transaction with Heath Perry.
Heath Perry first came to Leslie Wells Realty Inc seeking a location in Manatee County to find a spot to honor his brother, Lt. Joseph Perry, and Joe’s brotherhood, the Manatee County Sherriff’s Office.
Heath’s heart was set to find a place where Manatee County first responders could go to de-stress after their shift; to clear away the cobwebs of their duties, to prepare paperwork and to just unwind before going home to their loved ones. A place to vent with others who can relate to the dangers, burdens and sometimes grief of the job.
I could not be more honored to assist Heath and Kathy Perry, Joe Perry’s mother, find not just a location, but the perfect location, for Lt. Perrys Place opening June 2025.
Lt. Perry’s Place is a 2,500 square foot facility designed to be a retreat for law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and other first responders. With amenities such as comfortable seating areas, entertainment features, pool table, indoor and outdoor physical fitness areas and most significantly, a judgment-free environment for relaxation and comradery.
The non-profit’s mission is to honor Lt. Perry’s legacy by providing resources and safe spaces to promote mental and physical wellness among Manatee County’s first responders. Recognizing the high incidence of suicide within these most valuable professions, Joe Perry Lives Inc. will offer a support system to navigate around such tragedy.
The success of Joe Perry Lives Inc. depends on community involvement through donations,
sponsorships and volunteer opportunities. By supporting the organization, individuals contribute to the mental health and resilience of those who serve and protect our communities.
