The grass is green, the sun is shining, the crack of the bat and pop of the mitt. Baseball is Back in Bradenton! The Pirates have proudly called the City of Bradenton and Manatee County their Southern Home since 1969. This year’s Spring Training season kicks off at LECOM Park on Sunday, February 22nd at 1:05 p.m. vs. the Tampa Bay Rays. This year’s schedule features 17 home games featuring matchups against the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals. Once the Pirates head north to Pittsburgh, it’s time for the Bradenton Marauders season. The Marauders are the Single-A affiliate of the Pirates. There have been over 100 Marauders to make it to the Majors since the team’s inception in 2010, including current Pirates such as Paul Skenes, Mitch Keller and Jared Jones. While also watching Major League Baseball’s stars of tomorrow, you can also experience affordable, family fun, all summer long. The home schedule features 66 home games starting on April 7th through September 6th. Highlights of this year’s promo schedule include postgame drone shows on Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, September 5 and postgame fireworks on Saturday, May 16 and Friday, July 3rd. The postgame summer concert series will take place on the following Saturdays – May 30, June 20, July 25 and August 22.
