When most people think of Florida, they picture beautiful blue water, sunshine, and relaxing by the beach. Here in the North River area, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy that feeling. Our local lagoons bring the vacation experience right to our own backyard.
The Southshore Bay Lagoon in Wimauma and the soon-to-open Seaire Lagoon in Parrish are both located within master-planned communities, but they’re not just for the people who live there. The public can also enjoy these resort-style destinations by purchasing a day pass, making them a fun option for a family outing, date day, or weekend with friends.
Southshore Bay has quickly become a local favorite. The crystal-clear turquoise water, sandy beach, waterslides, paddleboards, kayaks, inflatable obstacle course, and swim-up bar make it feel like you’re at a tropical resort. Throughout the year, the lagoon also hosts live music, movie nights, fitness classes, food trucks, and seasonal events, so there’s always something new happening.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. The highly anticipated Seaire Lagoon, located on Moccasin Wallow Road in Parrish, is anticipated to open in the coming months. If you’ve driven by recently, you may have noticed people already enjoying the water. That’s because Seaire residents currently have limited access while the final construction and finishing touches are being completed. Once it officially opens, visitors can expect another incredible resort-style destination right here in our growing community.
Whether you’re spending the afternoon floating in the water, grabbing a drink at the swim-up bar, playing with the kids on the obstacle course, or simply relaxing in the sunshine, these lagoons offer something for everyone. They have quickly become one of the area’s most unique attractions and another reason so many people love calling the North River area home.
