Summer’s gone, Fall is here… and something else is happening that I’m not a fan of — the end of Daylight Saving Time. Yep, it’s that dreaded “fall back” moment when the clocks rewind, and suddenly 6:30 PM feels like it’s time to brush your teeth and call it a night.
For those of us who refuse to be early-to-bed people (you know who you are), it’s officially time to start whining about it — with wine, of course. Because if the daylight’s fading faster, that just means pour time moves up on the schedule too. Totally fair, right?
So, grab your favorite fall wine and let’s toast to surviving the early sunsets with style and a little sass:
🍇 Pinot Noir: Your “sweater weather” in a glass. Light, smooth, and perfect for pretending you have your life together while watching the sunset at 5:15. Fun Tip: It pairs beautifully with fuzzy socks and a little harmless gossip.
🍷 Merlot: Rich, comforting, and always reliable — kind of like your favorite blanket or that one friend who texts “wine?” at just the right moment. Fun Tip: It’s best enjoyed while rewatching your favorite comfort show and ignoring your to-do list.
🍾 Cabernet Sauvignon: The bold boss of fall wines. It’s full-bodied, confident, and tells you to stop whining about the dark — you’re fabulous, even by candlelight. Fun Tip: It pairs perfectly with chocolate, fireplaces, and mild attitude adjustments.
🥂 Chardonnay: The golden glass of optimism! Even when it’s dark by dinner, this sunshine-in-a-bottle keeps things bright. Fun Tip: Chill it slightly, light a pumpkin candle, and pretend it’s still patio season.
🍏 Riesling: Sweet, fun, and a little unpredictable — kind of like your mood when you realize it’s not even 7 PM yet. Fun Tip: Perfect for sipping while scrolling travel deals to tropical places you’ll never actually book.
So let the crying in your favorite fall wine begin! Until March 8, 2026 — when we finally reclaim our longer days — let the good wines flow, the laughter pour, and the “whine time” start whenever you darn well please.
Because if we have to lose daylight, we might as well gain a great glass (or two).
Cheers to whining and wining our way through fall! 🍁🥂
