When a medical emergency happens, having the right information ready can make a huge difference. That’s where the Life Line program from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office comes in. It’s a simple way to share important medical and contact details with emergency responders so they can provide the best care possible—fast.
In stressful situations, it’s not always easy for patients or family members to remember or communicate crucial health info like medical history, medications, or allergies. But that info can impact the treatment you receive. Life Line helps make sure responders have what they need right away.
Getting started with Life Line is straightforward:
- Fill out a Life Line information card for anyone in your home who needs special medical attention.
2. Put the card(s) into the provided envelope.
3. Keep the envelope in your refrigerator—in a visible spot like the top or condiment shelf.
4. Place the Life Line decal on your fridge door to alert emergency personnel.
5. You can also keep an extra envelope in your car’s glove box, with a decal on the rear windshield.
6. If you’re unsure how to fill out the card, ask your doctor, family member, or friend for help.
7. Update your information regularly to keep it current.
8. Anytime your health changes, fill out a new card with the latest details.
Life Line is an easy, practical way to protect yourself and your family in an emergency.
